Welcome to the Horncastle Family Foundation
The Horncastle Family Foundation is a trust that makes grant awards to children/young people, charities and voluntary organisations. Based in the East Riding of Yorkshire, the Trustees take a particular interest in applications that benefit Hull and the East Riding. The main priorities are for charitable work in the following areas:
- Education / training
- The advancement of health or saving of lives
- The prevention of relief of poverty
- Amateur sport
- Economic/community development/employment
- Recreation
Formerly known as the WA Horncastle Charitable Trust, it was set up in 1993 by Tony Horncastle, a retired local businessman who has been involved in charitable and voluntary work throughout his life, both through work and through his involvement with the Rotary.
In 2006, he was awarded the Order of the British Empire by HM The Queen for services to business and charitable endeavours.
In 2023, the Trust was renamed The Horncastle Family Foundation and saw Tony’s grandson’s Tom and James join himself and his son Andrew as Trustees.
